For custom rings and engagement rings bought at Shop Altana, the first sizing is complimentary.

Otherwise, the cost for resizing starts at $55 for 14K gold rings and $75 for 18K gold rings and will depend on the number of sizes it needs to go up or down. The price varies for platinum rings. Please inquire.

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of determining your true ring size. The structural integrity of your ring can be impacted by resizing your ring more than once or going up or down by a significant amount. The type of ring should also be noted. Some styles of bands feel tighter or looser than others, and this should be taken into consideration when choosing your size.

For this reason, we strongly recommend getting professionally sized. If you are local, please make an appointment to stop in to the Oakland store and bring your ring with you to be measured for changes. 

If you are not local, any nearby jewelry store should be able to help you with a measurement so that you are certain of your size before we alter your ring. Please note, we cannot guarantee another jeweler’s sizing. Just as clothing sizes vary from brand to brand, other jewelers can use different tools to gauge your size.

For more casual pieces, we will soon offer free jewelry sizers. However, sizing kits do not offer the same precision. If you are looking at an investment piece, again, we always prefer having a professional size.
