Many of our clients tell us they have gold jewelry tucked away in a jewelry box, whether they are pieces that are broken, outdated, mismatched, or simply no longer fit their style. Our Gold Trade-In Program allows you to apply the scrap value of the gold toward a custom design, engagement ring, wedding band, or another ready-made piece from our collection.
How the process works
STEP ONE: DROP OFF YOUR JEWELRY
Make an appointment with our team. Bring in the gold jewelry you'd like to trade in. One of our associates will carefully weigh each item, document everything you're leaving with us, and provide you with a claim receipt for your records.
STEP TWO: INITIAL EVALUATION
One of our jewelers will test each piece to determine its gold content and review the overall weight. Based on this evaluation, we'll provide a preliminary estimate of what we expect the gold to be worth. (Please note that this is only an estimate. The final value is determined at the pickup appointment.)
STEP THREE: YOUR FINAL CREDIT
We offer 70% of the scrap gold value as store credit, which can be applied toward a custom jewelry project or another purchase from our store.
The remaining portion covers the costs associated with the refining process, including insured shipping, refining fees, and other processing expenses as well as the batch fee the refiner charges us.
FAQ
Why can't you give me the final amount when I first drop off my jewelry?
The value of gold changes constantly, so we don’t want to guess at its future value or lock you into a price too early. This allows us to calculate your final credit based on the actual gold market at the time your metal is processed.
This approach is different from an immediate cash-for-gold or pawn transaction, where the business assumes the risk of future changes in the gold market. Those businesses typically offer significantly less than the full market value of the gold in order to account for that risk.
We’d rather wait, process your gold when your project is complete, and give you the most accurate trade-in value we can based on the actual market at that time.
DO you pay cash for gold?
We do not. Our Gold Trade-In Program is offered for current or new clients as store credit to be used toward a future jewelry purchase or custom project. If you’d like to receive cash for your jewelry, we recommend checking out other local options like pawn shops or selling your jewelry online through sites like The RealReal or Worthy.
What kinds of gold do you accept?
We accept most gold jewelry, including broken jewelry, single earrings, outdated styles, chains, rings, bracelets, and other unwanted gold items. If you’re reworking an heirloom stone with us, we’re happy to use the remaining gold from the piece for trade in after we remove all of the stones. If you're unsure whether something qualifies, please bring it in to show us.
We’re happy to help you get value from unwanted gold jewelry. We ask that trade-in items be identifiable gold jewelry or other finished pieces, as we’re unable to accept dental gold, miscellaneous scraps, or unidentified metals. The small batch refiner we use does not accept those items.
